Problem

So, I managed to lock myself out of my system by messing up /etc/inputrc.  As soon as I logged in via ssh it would close the session.  Anyway, I plugged a monitor into my server, rebooted into a live linux distro, mounted my drive and undid my (silly) changes to /etc/inputrc.  Rebooted and the server went straight to the blank, blinking cursor screen (this is normal).

For the life of me I couldn't remember how to bring up the login...

Seriously, took me forever to find that on the net (every page was all like... Ubuntu's login page is pretty, just enter your username + password... well on my server I don't have any fancy schmancy GUI installed).
